Breakfast and snack programs in York Region receive foundational funding from the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services via the Peterborough Child and Family Centres that acts as the Lead Agency. Funding only covers upwards of 15% of total costs for schools. They rely on donations and fundraising to pay for healthy food for their snack and breakfast programs.
